TVG’S TOTAL WAGERING FOR FIRST QUARTER 2008 SOARS 32% YEAR-OVER-YEAR TO $108.8 MILLION
The wagering increase was fueled by a 47% increase in TVG’s cable and satellite television distribution to 30 million U.S. households.

LOS ANGELES (May 8, 2008) – TVG, America’s Horseracing Network, announced today that it processed $108.8 million in total wagering during the first quarter of 2008, the highest first quarter total in the company’s history and a 32 % increase over the first quarter of 2007. The significant increase in TVG’s wagering business came during a quarter when overall wagering on U.S. horseracing declined 3.1 %.

“During the first quarter, our core wagering business prospered in an extremely difficult business environment for the entire horseracing industry, including other ADW providers, which is very encouraging,” said David Nathanson, GM of TVG. “TVG’s cable and satellite television distribution increased 47% year-over-year to 30 million U.S. households and, consequently, we are seeing the benefit in our wagering business.”

“Additionally, we continue to maintain our leadership position in the racing industry by developing and releasing innovative new products and services for our customers ranging from the debut of our new TVG Broadband service on Hulu.com, the introduction a free past performance program and enhancements on to our core Internet wagering platform” Nathanson added.
