LOS ANGELES (July 2, 2008) – The top 3-year-old grass fillies in the United States will take on challengers from across the globe in the G1 $750,000 American Oaks at Hollywood Park on Saturday, July 5. Additionally, TVG will have exclusive live coverage of the G1 Triple Bend, G1 Vanity, and the G2 $750,000 CashCall Mile.

TVG’s special coverage begins on-track Saturday morning at 9am PT with “Pick 6 Central.” The show will preview Hollywood Park’s guaranteed $500k Pick 6 along with the TVG $300k Pick 4. TVG exclusive shows “Coast to Coast” and “:58 Flat” will follow from Hollywood Park, and the networks most popular show, “Trackside Live” will begin at 1 p.m. PT. Post time on Saturday is Noon PT for an 11-race program that features five graded stakes races with purses totaling $2.2 million.

The 7th running of the American Oaks is scheduled alongside some of the most competitive races in the Hollywood Park season. The CashCall Mile (formally the Royal Heroine) has an illustrious history with recent winners including Japanese runner Dance in the Mood, who set the stakes record, and Eclipse Award winner Intercontinental. This years running is expected to have defending CashCall Mile champion Lady of Venice taking on several others including G1 winner Ventura. Also, the G1 Vanity is expected to have undefeated filly Zenyatta, going for her sixth win in as many starts.
