TVG TO AIR EXCLUSIVE BROADCAST OF BANK OF AMERICA CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIPS LIVE FROM EVANGELINE DOWNS
LOS ANGELES (November 6, 2008) – TVG will exclusively air all Bank of America Challenge Championship races from Evangeline Downs in Opelousas, Louisiana on Saturday, November 8. TVG will be on-site, with a full production covering five graded stakes races worth $1.025M in purse money. The (G1) $350,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship is the night’s showcase event. The 440-yard race features the sole female runner, I Opening Sensation, taking on ten male counterparts.
TVG’s special on-site coverage from Evangeline Downs, a TVG exclusive track, will feature commentary and insight from TVG analyst Dave Weaver together with host Mike Joyce and reporter Chris Kotulak.
Post time for the first Championship race is 9:04 CT/10:04 p.m. ET. The highlighted Bank of America Challenge Championship will go off at 10:52 CT/11:52 p.m. ET. The Bank of America Challenge Championship is the richest Challenge Championship night race.
The five graded Bank of American Challenge Championship races are (in race order) the following:
- $75,000 Fort Dodge Racing Challenge Starter Allowance
- (G2) $150,000 Ford Racing Challenge Juvenile Championship
- (G1) $125,000 Red Cell Racing Challenge Distance Championship
- (G1) $200,000 Bayer Legend Racing Challenge Derby Championship
- (G1) $350,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship
- (G1) $125,000 Merial Racing Challenge Championship
The card also includes the (G1) $545,000 Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders’ Futurity featuring Jet Black Patriot, the runner-up in the 2008 All American Futurity.
The Challenge Championship races are the culmination of the Bank of America Quarter Horse Racing Challenge featuring 59 races across North and South America throughout the year, designed for "America's Fastest Athlete."
