The Horse racing dates allocated to the San Mateo County Fair will be held at Bay Meadows Race Track, adjacent to the Fairgrounds.

The tracks hosts races for Thoroughbreds, quarter horses, Arabians and mules. Stakes races include the $15,000 Jack Clifford Race August 20th, with 3 year old quarter horses running a 350 yard race. There are two Arabian stakes races, the $16,000 California Classic Oaks Aug 12th,a six furlong race for 4 year old fillies and the $16,000 California Classic, August 19th. The Classic is a six-furlong sprint for any 4-year old horse. The Straight from the Gate is a 350-yard scramble for 3-year old mules with a $9,000 purse on August 23rd.
