Dover Downs features live racing November through April and simulcast all year. In addition to a new opening day, Monday, Oct. 31, there will be several other "new looks" at Dover Downs when the 2005-06 meet begins. The 133-day Dover Downs meet closes April 13, 2006.
In addition to the track’s signature event, the $425,000 Progress Pace, eight Matron and eight Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) stakes in November and December, the regular daily cards will be highlighted by contentious racing. The daily features include: a $30,000 Preferred Pace and $28,000 Delaware Special on Mondays, a $25,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace, Tuesdays, a $25,000 Open Trot on Thursdays and top class conditioned and high priced claiming races on other race days.
