A field of nine is set to run in the $250,000 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes (G2) at Keeneland on Saturday, October 5. The six-furlong contest goes as Race 7 on a stakes filled, 11-race card.

#3 Spiced Perfection (7-2) was a grade 1 winner here in April, taking the Madison by a neck in a dramatic finish. She was then fourth at Churchill Downs in the grade 1 Humana Distaff in May and hasn’t run since, but has been working steadily at San Luis Rey Downs for trainer Peter Miller. Javier Castellano will be aboard the California-bred filly, who has run at five different tracks in her last five starts.

#6 Mia Mischief (9-2) is also a winner here in her lone start when breaking her maiden here by over 16 lengths going this distance. That was in 2017; since then, she has added four stakes races, including the Humana Distaff over Spiced Perfection. She was fifth in the Ballerina at Saratoga last out, and gets a new rider today in Joel Rosario. Steve Asmussen trains.

#8 Chalon (3-1) has been second here in all three of her starts on the track. The five-year-old daughter of Dialed In was a stakes winner at three, then came back at four under Arnaud Delacour to win another four stakes the last two years. She is coming off a listed win at Parx September 2. The classy mare has been first or second in 14 of 17 lifetime starts.

#4 Danuska’s My Girl (6-1) also ships in from California. The quick five-year-old daughter of Shackleford has won three grade 3 races in her last four starts, including wins at Del Mar and Santa Anita, and is expected to show speed under Flavien Prat. Jerry Hollendorfer trains.

#1 Ours to Run (7-2) has never run at Keeneland, but trainer Larry Jones often does well here and she has won 12 of 21 lifetime starts, including six stakes in her last seven tries. Those were mostly in Louisiana with a score at Oaklawn Park; last out she ran third in grade 2 company at Saratoga. She worked a bullet on this surface September 30, going five panels in :59.3.

#7 Talk Veuve to Me (10-1) gets Jose Ortiz back aboard for trainer Rodolphe Brisset. The daughter of Violence was a winner two back at Saratoga, then ran second in the rich Presque Isle Masters (G2) last out. She routed over this course last fall but ran off the board, then came back in the spring to win here before being disqualified later.

Razorback Lady, Dawn the Destroyer, and Pretty Greeley round out the field. Watch all the action at Keeneland this fall live on TVG.
