This is the second to last weekend to bet on the 2019 Keeneland fall meet, with the Saturday feature being the $125,000 Rood and Riddle Dowager Stakes (G3) for fillies and mares going 1 ½ miles on the grass.

The race drew a field of thirteen, with runners from all over the map. Rachel Halden will start #1 Ambitious Moon on the rail; the Ontario-bred mare has only run outside of Woodbine once in her 11 lifetime starts, but she is a three-time winner in her last four starts.

#2 Lemoona last raced at Kentucky Downs for trainer Richard Baltas, who has three entered. She is four for 15 lifetime, with a stakes win at Santa Anita three back.

#3 Gentle Ruler (3-1) is the early favorite. She was a Kentucky Downs stakes winner over Lemoona last out, and was a Delaware Park stakes winner three back. She has won five of six starts this year for trainer Ian Wilkes.

#4 Over Thinking is a winner over this course. That happened a year ago almost to the day against allowance company. She hasn’t won since a Churchill Downs allowance in November, but was stakes placed at Del Mar in August.

#8 Touriga (Brz) makes her third North American start since joining the barn of Graham Motion from Brazil. She was a three-time winner there, including a grade 1, and was grade 3 placed in her United States debut in July. She was ambitiously spotted in the grade 2 Canadian at Woodbine last out, finishing seventh, but stretches out here and gets class relief.

#9 Pantsonfire (Ire) is the second of the three Baltas runners. She’s been third in her last two starts, both stakes races in California, and won the grade 3 Astra in January. She is lightly raced and gets Brian Hernandez Jr up. This will be her first start outside California since arriving there from Ireland in 2017.

#10 Elysea’s World (Ire) is a three-time grade 3 winner and is grade 1 placed. She hasn’t won since March at Santa Anita in the Santa Ana, but was third in the Rodeo Drive (G1) last out. Javier Castellano gets up for the first time since 2018; they won a grade 3 at Gulfstream Park together last year.
