San Antonio (G2) at Santa Anita: Not seen since June at Churchill Downs, GIFT BOX ($4.40) won this race for the second consecutive year and stamped himself as a serious older handicap horse to take notice of for 2020. I went all in on MIDCOURT, who was wide every step of the way and finished a distant second. Two nice horses.
American Oaks (G1) at Santa Anita: Jockey Joe Bravo squeezed through the rail in deep stretch and straight into the winner’s circle with LADY PRANCEALOT ($5.20), allowing us to cash a chalky $7.60 exacta five times. Improving newly turned four-year-old will be exciting to watch further develop as she tackles older fillies and mares.
La Brea (G1) at Santa Anita: The appropriately named HARD NOT TO LOVE ($25.20), who only has one eye and is a half-sister to WONDER GADOT, gave us plenty of love as we recommended a $10 win ticket on her nose.
Malibu (G1) at Santa Anita: OMAHA BEACH ($2.80), a son of WAR FRONT, has now run ten times in his career, never finishing out of the money. His eleventh (and final career race) will occur in two weeks in the $3 million Pegasus World Cup (G1) at Gulfstream Park.
