A pair of runners exiting the 2020 Kentucky Derby prep the Gotham Stakes (G3) at Aqueduct are entered in the 1 1/16-mile Unbridled Stakes at Gulfstream Park on April 25. The $75,000 race is for three-year-old colts and geldings.

Attachment Rate, who was third, and Necker Island, who was fifth, bookend this field. Necker Island drew the rail for trainer Stanley Hough. The son of Hard Spun was a $250,000 purchase who won a maiden and an allowance at Churchill Downs in the fall, and has since run fifth in the Swale (G3) here on then fifth in the Gotham. Dylan Davis will ride over this colt’s first try past a mile.

Attachment Rate is trained by Dale Romans and is outside the field of seven. He broke his maiden over this course over a mile on February 15, scoring by more than six lengths under Luis Saez. That pilot will be aboard today. This is another son of Hard Spun, who ran third in the Gotham beaten just two lengths.

Hough has a second runner in South Bend. The son of Algorithms won three straight races in the fall, including the Street Sense Stakes at Churchill Downs. He has been frustrating since, running fourth in the MUcho Macho Man here over a mile, then third in both the Dania Beach and Palm Beach (G3) on the grass. He was second last out in the Cutler Bay here over a mile. Rajiv Maragh will ride.

Trainer Todd Pletcher will start Dr Post. The $400,000 son of Quality Road broke his maiden here going seven furlongs on March 29. He was well regarded when he started at Belmont Park on July 4, but finished fourth behind future Grade 2 winner and Grade 1 placed Green Light Go. He was off from July until March, and has worked twice for this at Palm Beach Downs.

Trainer Mike Maker has Relentless Dancer, fourth last out in the Tampa Bay Derby (G2). He was a stakes winner at Delta Downs in October, then ran fourth in the Holy Bull (G3) here February 1. He was beaten nearly 19 lengths that day behind Tiz the Law and Ete Indien.

Soros rounds out the contenders. The son of Commissioner broke his maiden in the Smooth Air Stakes here on November 30 over a mile as a 7-1 shot.
