The Great Lady M (G2) at Los Alamitos: If you go back and read my analysis for this race, there’s no way I should not have made money playing this race, but yet I did, which was stupid on my part since every handicapper in the world knew BELLAFINA would be overbet. Foolishly, I went all in on her and didn’t allocate any of my bankroll to my second choice (and eventual winner) SNEAKING OUT ($16.40). And remarkably, I made the very same mistake in the next race at Monmouth Park!
Spruce Fir Handicap at Monmouth Park: Similar to BELLAFINA at Los Alamitos, LIZ’S CABLE GIRL in this race looked like a total standout on paper, but was also likely to be hammered at the windows, which generally means you should look elsewhere. So if you played my longshot value play (PRANCING WARRIOR), you cashed $31.00 for every $2 you bet to win on her! I wasn’t that smart, but I hope you were!
Manhattan (G1) at Belmont Park: Finally did something right in this race as it’s always a good thing to focus in on Chad Brown runners, so when INSTILLED REGARD and ROCKEMPEROR ran one-two, that allowed me to cash the 50 cent trifecta that paid $21.50 four times! Easy game.
Runhappy Metropolitan Handicap (G1) at Belmont Park: Turns out the G1 Carter on June 6th at Belmont Park was THE key prep race for this race as the one-two finishers that day (VEKOMA and NETWORK EFFECT) finished in that exact same order in this race. Congrats to those who cashed on such a simple premise – I wasn’t one of them. On to Saratoga!
