The July 19 card at Saratoga boasts yet another pair of stakes, including the $150,000 Lake Placid Stakes (G2) for sophomore fillies going 1 1/8 miles on the turf. Bet on the 2020 Saratoga summer meeting every day with

The eight-horse field is wide open, with #8 Cat’s Pajamas (5-2) drawn outside. This is her first foray into stakes company after breaking her maiden at Churchill Downs in May and then adding an allowance race at Belmont Park, both over 1 1/16 miles. Graham Motion trains the daughter of Street Sense, who will have John Velazquez back aboard. She has flourished since switching to grass and could continue on her streak today.

Stablemate #2 Blame Debbie (8-1) hasn’t won since a main track race at Keeneland last fall. The daughter of Blame has been training well for this at Fair Hill, and will have Jose Ortiz on board for the first time. She was third, beaten just a neck, in only her second turf try going 1 ¼ miles at Belmont June 21.

#1 Speaktomeofsummer (5-1) takes the blinkers off for this. Christophe Clement trains the Summer Front filly, who has won two of four starts including a listed stakes at Aqueduct last fall. She was off from November 3 until June 20, running fourth in the Grade 3 Wonder Again at Belmont against tough company. Joel Rosario will ride.

#3 Lashara (4-1) is here for Mark Casse. The American Pharoah filly was a maiden winner at Gulfstream Park on the grass April 11 in her second start, then missed by just a half length when second at Belmont June 14. Cat’s Pajamas beat her that day, but Javier Castellano climbs aboard for the first time. #6 Stunning Sky (3-1) is in with a big shot. Mike Maker trains the daughter of Declaration of War, who gets Irad Ortiz, Jr. back aboard for the first time since they won two in a row at Gulfstream this winter. She has been stakes placed since then and although she was sixth in the Grade 3 Regret at Churchill Downs last out, Stunning Sky ran the highest speed figure of her career.
