The double feature at Woodbine Racetrack on Saturday includes the $125,000 Marine Stakes (G3) for sophomore colts and geldings. They are going 1 1/16 miles on the synthetic main track.

All eyes will be on #7 Shirl’s Speight (6-5), a son of Speightstown and the Breeders’ Cup winning mare Perfect Shirl. The Roger Attfield-trainee won on debut by eight lengths, romping at 7 furlongs on the grass. He switches surfaces now and stretches out, but the debut was so impressive that he is already considered one of the better horses on the grounds. Rafael Hernandez will ride.

#6 Untitled (9-2) drew inside. Mark Casse trains the two-time winner, who was stakes placed in the Woodstock last out over six furlongs. He has won over a mile at Gulfstream Park, but this will be his first try at 1 1/16 miles. Emma Jayne Wilson rides the son of Khozan.

#1 Lucky Curlin (3-1) drew the rail and is also trained by Casse. Kimura will ride the son of Curlin, who is out of a Hard Spun mare. He was a winner over seven furlongs here last out, but has been third in both of his two-turn races.

#3 Lookinatamiracle (6-1) is trained by Sandra Dominguez. The son of Lookin At Lucky has won two of five starts and has been top three four times. Patrick Husbands will ride the graded stakes placed colt, who was a winner here July 3 over six furlongs.

#4 Dotted Line (8-1) won the Kingarvie Stakes as the favorite December 4, then made his 2020 debut July 4 in the Queenston and finished fifth. Justin Stein is up on the Sid Attard runner by Signature Red, who has won three in a row last year. His speed figures need to improve to win, but don’t discount the 2020 debut because he clearly needed the race.
