From the barn that brings you Pink Lloyd comes #7 Dragon’s Brew (3-1), a son of Milwaukee Brew who broke his maiden here August 9 in his debut. Robert Tiller trains the late running closer. #5 Stephen (6-1) will debut here for Kevin Attard, and is coming off a bullet workout August 25. #4 Too Legit (4-1) was a debut winner at the $40,000 level August 9 for Barbara Minshall.

Out of a field of ten juvenile fillies, only three of them have won. It says something about the quality of this group that #9 For My Elbi (3-1) is the favorite after losing her first two starts. #8 Howmuchistoomuch (10-1) is interesting shipping in off a win at Prairie Meadows. #1 Silent Mamba (7-2) broke her maiden first out by four lengths at the $40,000 level, then was beaten more than 25 lengths in her stakes debut August 1.

$135,000 Elgin Stakes

Three-year-old fillies will go seven furlongs on the main track. #2 Marjorie’s Dream (5-2) broke her maiden in her third try by eight lengths last out and stretches to this distance for the first time. #9 Wake Up Maggie (7-2) won an allowance by a nose last out, and has been top three in seven of nine starts here. #8 Silent Causeway (3-1) missed by a nose to Wake Up Maggie last out as the favorite, but was an impressive maiden breaker in June.

$135,000 Algoma Stakes

The last stake on the program is for sophomore colts and geldings. Blinkers go on #3 Have a Souper Day (9-2), who has been racing on turf his last two starts but does better on the synthetic. He doesn’t win often but has been top three in eight of ten tries. #4 Forester’s Fortune (5-2) was second in stakes company last out on the grass after winning two in a row and is very live here. #9 Speedy Moonlite (7-2) just broke his maiden here August 6 in his second start, and actually improved his speed figure in doing so.
