    About DuQoin State Fairgrounds

    Located about 90 miles southeast of St. Louis in southern Illinois, the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds been running since 1923. The track even hosted American harness racing’s biggest prize, the Hamletonian Stakes, from 1957 through 1981, and used to be a part of the Grand Circuit. The track we see today was constructed in 1946 and is known as the Magic Mile. The track also plays host to auto racing.
