About Zia Park
Naturally running as a racino these days, Zia Park boasts not only its quarter horse and thoroughbred race track but also a casino with as many as 750 slots.Players of all types are accommodated in the on-site 154-room hotel and with the knowhow of Penn National Gaming, the track offers a terrific service.
The facility is placed just 5 miles from downtown Hobbs, New Mexico, just over 100 miles from Roswell and 240 from El Paso.
Zia Park has only been going for a little over a decade but is already a firm fixture on the New Mexico racing schedule and is steadily increasing its purse values and its daily handle.
Zia Park Track Details
Zia Park is made up of a standard one-mile oval dirt track with chutes on the home stretch and the backstretch. There is no turf course at Zia but there is a significant amount of room for horses and horsemen to the west of the track.

As well has hosting some significant quarter horse races for up to $200,000 during its meet, Zia Park’s biggest thoroughbred races attract a lot of attention in the racing media with the main features being:

Zia Park Oaks – 3yo fillies at 1 1/16 miles (November) - $250,000
Zia Park Derby – 3yo’s at 1 1/6 miles (November) - $250,000
